[an accidental by-product of 2 Klicks South of Wonderland] Teddybear killers is not about killing teddybears- it's about reminding us to save them- both nameless innocents out there as well as our own personal prisoner. With the blindfold flirting with notions of oppression, automation, or loss of innocence- and the teddybear being a figure most of us can instinctively empathize with- it attempts to prompt each of us to recheck our own freedom. Long Live Teddy! ------------------------------------------------------------------------- *** The Teddybear-Killers project is an offshoot of artist Ohad Maiman's Fall 2011 solo shows at the Richard Young Gallery in London, Stephen Webster in LA, and Story in Stockholm. The Teddybear image originated in "Jones Beach Killers" (pictured above), and has come to personify the journey of the series' characters, as they leave society behind and embark on a search for Wonderland. For more information, see the 'About' section, or visit www.OhadMaiman.com
